Greetings from Earth

Hello earthlings. Welcome to the world of plants, dirt and rocks. This blog will revolve around the small landscape company my wife, Donna, and I own and run, known as Harmony Landscapes, and the plants and landscape situations we have encountered along the way. Just a good time talking earthly subjects and such! Thanks for stopping by....themanfromearth (aka Rob Huckestein) (harmonylandscapes@yahoo.com)

Narrow beds, spacious wall....need a plant that will not outgrow it's space but contribute heighth and the illusion of mass to tone down an architectural element? Loropetalum espaliered. :-)

This is a pond I designed and installed incorporating the homeowner's statuary and pottery, as they desired. The pond is nestled just fifteen feet from the back patio where Rob's clients enjoy their morning coffee.

Small water feature for a limited space

I converted an old swimming pool into this pond and surrounding garden area about 5 years ago.

Patio, sitting wall and fire pit

You can have a pond even if you have limited space. This pond could probably fit inside a 6' by 8' oval.

There's a gator in this small pond I built a year ago.

The ponds I build often take on the personality of my client. I talk to them about certain details of the pond construction (size of rock used, differing styles of building a water course [more natural, long water drops, etc.] to ensure they are happy with the end result.

You never know what might be lurking in the garden! Actually, this is a poke salad plant I found on a job site that looks a lot like an iguana.
